Comments

Is that second list supposed to be things a good Evangelical(tm) would be able to argue against?

Stuart Heath says:

I’m taking the comment about the WCF as ironic, right?

Nathan Campbell says:

You mean you don’t think the WCF was inspired? I heard that 70 guys all went into a cave and came out with exactly the same framework…

Arthur says:

Loving it, Nathan… :)

Since March I’ve had the opportunity to connect with the Sudanese Christian community here in Melbourne, which has been pretty head shifting for me. :)

As I keep thinking about overseas mission, this list strikes me as a pretty strange one for a *global* church planting network… Particularly sections 3 and 7 (the bulk of the list).

Some of the questions I’m asking myself about it are:

• Does this list hold up in majority world contexts? What might be missing? (Eg witchcraft, syncretism, Islam.) What might be irrelevant? (Eg evolution, feminism, TULIP.)

• How robust is the theological unity this list aspires to? Is it enough to be ‘evangelical’ outside the West?

so would driscoll have passed the list when he planted Mars Hill?

Damien Carson says:

Arthur: you’re on the money there, man. A minister ministering where & to whom? I think they left out “ethnocentricity”?!
