Hottest 100 things to do in Townsville

Here’s the list. As promised. There are a lot of food related items. Apart from item number one they are not yet in order of quality. I will be putting these together as posts with pictures and stuff — probably on a separate blog.

My definition of Townsville is the same as Tourism Queensland’s — it includes everything north to Mission Beach, west to Charters Towers and south to the Burdekin.

So, Townsvillians — do you have anything to add or subtract?

I guess that I should state, for the record, that I enjoyed many of these experiences either free of charge or at a significant discount. That did not guarantee them a place on the list — I left a few things off.

Have you tried Pukka Pies? I think they’re the best.

Good list. I’ve done about a quarter. A few (eg 21 & 54) I don’t ever plan on doing. I don’t eat out very often. I’d probably add a picnic by the river, Pallerenda, and seeing cane fields burning.

Probably my favourite Townsville dining experience, multiple times, has been Wayne and Adele’s Garden of Eating. I used to love the Balcony. I haven’t been there for a long time, so I don’t know what it’s like now.

I’m surprised to see ‘shopping in Flinders Mall’ not on your list… oh, hang on, that’s not really something you can do in Townsville.

Did you see the renos at Coffee Dominion before you left?

  4. 4

Reef HQ still does sleepovers??? I ALWAYS wanted to go to one of those when I was a kid :(

Btw I don’t think it counts to list the same restaurant several times but just list a different meal :P

About St. Eutychus

Eutychus was a young man who fell to his death because the Apostle Paul preached for too long (Acts 20). I've decided to canonise Eutychus and make him the patron saint of my dalliances around the Internet.
