Why Subscribe

What’s all this subscription stuff?

You’ve probably seen “subscribe” or “RSS” or a funny little icon that looks like a broadcast tower somewhere around the web right?

What is RSS

RSS is an acronym. It stands for Really Simple Syndication. It’s your chance to never miss a post.

RSS is awesome. You can have all the content from this site (and many others) delivered to one central location.

I use Google Reader – but there are heaps of other RSS readers out there – Firefox has one built in.

Why should I subscribe

I post lots. Too much stuff for most people to handle in a casual visit. And I care more about my subscription stats than any others – subscribers make me feel good. Just do it for my sake – and for yours.

RSS will change the way you use the internet.

How do I subscribe

Once you’ve got Google Reader – or another RSS system – set up subscribing is really easy. You can even subscribe to a category rather than to the whole kit and kaboodle.

Just find a little orange square – and click on it – and you’ll get the address for the atom feed for the page. An atom feed is much the same as RSS. Just slightly better.

You can copy this URL and paste it in to your “add a subscription” thing in your reader. Or you can click that link and FeedBurner (which powers my main feed) will let you choose from the following popular options…
