The St. Eutychus Coffee Roastery is open for business

I love coffee. You may have picked up on that. I think good coffee is the backbone of civilised society. I write about coffee a lot, it even has its own category. I also own a stupidly large coffee machine that I am happy to make available for events (at a reasonable price) and I roast coffee beans which I am happy to provide for you (also at a reasonable price).

Roasting

I currently buy my green beans from Ministry Grounds — a co-op run by Neil Atwood, a youth minister in the Blue Mountains. Green beans are incredibly cheap — a quarter of the price of roasted beans from specialty roasters or supermarkets. Freshly roasted coffee is also exponentially greater than stuff bought in a supermarket.

I recommend roasting your own beans — you can do it using a popcorn maker, for two years I roasted mine in a breadmaker with a heat gun, all you need is heat and agitation. If you can’t roast your own beans then the next best thing (both economically and in terms of quality) is to buy them from someone who does. If you’re in Brisbane I am happy to supply beans at very reasonable rates (price varies depending on the variety). If you’re elsewhere I’m also happy to mail beans around the country — at your cost (postage wise).

I offer discounted rates to churches looking for a steady supply of coffee beans or fellow QTC students. Order your coffee using the form below:

Book my services
Is your church holding an event that would benefit from great coffee? Are you having a party? I have a 3 group commercial machine available for hire for events in the Brisbane area. It comes complete with a Macap M4 grinder, beans, and (if required) the services of a friendly barista (that would be me). Hire is subject to availability and at a reasonable rate to be negotiated based on the type of event and the number of people attending. If you are interested in booking my machine and my services for your event please fill in this form.

About St. Eutychus

Eutychus was a young man who fell to his death because the Apostle Paul preached for too long (Acts 20). I've decided to canonise Eutychus and make him the patron saint of my dalliances around the Internet.
