Archives For Fox news

Apparently, according to Fox News, all that is needed to link something good, with something bad, is the use of a common language.

Powerful ‘Flame’ cyberweapon tied to popular Angry Birds game

“The most sophisticated and powerful cyberweapon uncovered to date was written in the LUA computer language, cyber security experts tell Fox News — the same one used to make the incredibly popular Angry Birds game.”

And the image that they used with the story (in case you are smart enough not to click through)…

Fox News published this amazingly over the top, and downright idiotic headline and lede in English. Norwegian psycho Anders Breivik published his manifesto in English. Link established.

Seriously. This is horribad journalism. I know. It’s odd to be getting angry at Fox’s stupidity over a story like this, but it’s a dumb story that serves a much broader point about their credibility.

That is all.

I think this might be old.

But it doesn’t stop it being a damning indictment on the editorial policies of local branches of Fox News.

Seriously.

“Boy farts on school bus, gets detention” wouldn’t have even been given a run in my school newspaper.

Moses v Jesus

I just found this pretty interesting article (though it’s on Fox’s website so it’s probably inaccurate and full of bias) that concluded that Moses is more culturally important to the United States than Jesus.

Which I guess says a lot about some of the religious identity problems plaguing America.

“But as important as Jesus was to Americans’ private lives, he had far less influence than Moses on the great transformations of our public life. The themes of Jesus’ life – love, charity, alleviating poverty – would not make the list of the defining impulses of most Americans.

The themes of Moses’ life, by contrast – social mobility, standing up to authority, balancing freedom and law, dreaming of a promised land – would make any short list of America’s defining traits.”
