More new music: Interview with a Vampire

I caught this Vampire Weekend song on the Jools Holland show while channel surfing the other night.

It was catchy, and I had heard of Vampire Weekend but not heard from Vampire Weekend (at least not memorably) before then. A bit of YouTubing later and I’ve decided I quite like them.

The Andrew Show

This kid is going to grow up to be a racist Third Eagle of the Apocalypse. The puppet only gets a say about 3 minutes in.

He’s a junior KKK member. No kidding.

Speaking of Radiohead

This time tomorrow Robyn and I will be on our way home from a Muse concert. Awesome.

I’m hoping for some of this.

Not this.

Or this.

Paranoid Androids

Paranoid Android is one of my favourite Radiohead songs. Here’s Thom Yorke singing it with an acoustic guitar.

And here are Australian comedy band Tripod singing it a capella.

And here’s an 8 Bit version of the song.

And a bonus, because it was on YouTube and I saw it – here’s another one of my favourite Radiohead songs. Live.

Bad Christian Music #74

YouTube’s supply of bad Christian music seems bottomless. I can’t remember if I’ve seen this before. But it made me laugh.

NBA Jam: Jordan meets James

Last year this basketball player named LeBron James sent shockwaves through his home city because he turned his back on the team who had nurtured and created him. He moved. He changed teams. He didn’t do it in a very classy way. Anyway, he’s probably the best basketballer going around – and he’s a Nike sponsored superstar.

That intro is necessary for you to understand why this mashup of Nike commercials where Michael Jordan gives LeBron some advice is pretty cool.

A Badd take on Christianese

Badd make funny videos.

Bold, and beautiful, visualisation

The Bold and the Beautiful in 6 minutes. Contains adult themes. And stupidity.

Thanks Cafe Dave.

Take me driving in your third person car…

Like many of the internet generation I’m a fan of Red vs Blue. And I was thrilled to discover that the Red v Blue back catalogue is on YouTube.

I discovered that because I watched this video, made by Rooster Teeth, the guys responsible for Red v Blue… there’s a pretty strong language warning on this one about half way in.

Here, in case you haven’t seen it, is the first episode of Red V Blue – there’s a language warning on it too. It’s a series shot entirely using characters from Halo.

Misstifying…

There is surely a sermon illustration, or something, in this…

From a recent international between Qatar and Uzbekistan.

Hipster Preacher: as crazy as the other YouTube crazies

Ok. I’m glad the Wine Barrel guy from Brisbane doesn’t have a monopoly on crazy.

“We have the most revelation of any generation that has walked the planet.”

I can take this “revelation” and leave it… but thanks.

Oh. This explains it.

More music to study to: Gotye

I’m really looking forward to the new Gotye album. Here’s his first song:

Music to Study to: Boy and Bear and Deerhunter

Speaking of music. I’m enjoying the Boy and Bear EP With Emperor Antarctica:

And a bit of Deerhunter’s Halcyon Digest I suspect many of you will like the former more than the latter…

Compare and Contrast: Owl City and the Postal Service

I heard this song somewhere, and then a friend favourited it on YouTube.

I’d always thought it was by the Postal Service, until I shazammed it (is that a verb?). Turns out I was wrong. And thousands of Internet people have already commented on the similarities.

And if you think the Postal Service sound a lot like Death Cab for Cutie that’s because Ben Gibbard is in both bands.

So there you go, I’m educating you all so that you don’t have to continue listening to the inferior knock off.

Life through the lens of Facebook

A cool video, with a few swear words (in text).
