The Internet needs more dogs…

I’ve never gone for the LOL cats thing. Cats aren’t funny. Cats are horrible soulless things with fur.

But dogs. Dogs doing funny stuff is something I can go for…

Exhibits A and B… there you go…

The history of the English Language (in 10 minutes)

If you don’t want to read Bill Bryson’s excellent Mother Tongue… just watch this video.

I challenge you to watch this and not want a pet owl…

He looks so happy with his head rub…

Marcel, the Shell, with shoes on…

This is great. Really brightened my Greek filled day…

At least by keeping me from Greek for four minutes.

Hip Hop Dressage

A Danish Dressage guy named Andreas Helgstrand apparently performed a dressage routine at the 2006 World Equestrian Championships that wowed the crowds (see below).

Somebody decided that routine would be better with hip-hop.

There’s a language warning in this song (I seem to be posting lots of language warnings this week).

The original, in case dressage is your thing…

Let your fingers do the parkouring…

This is surprisingly fluid, and a little bit dizzying.

The Mike Tyson Song

This song has some very rude words. But it is very funny. A song made up of quotes from the rather deranged ex-boxer/ear-biter Mike Tyson.

The Beautiful Game

Barcelona play a beautiful style of football. It is mesmerising.

Allas is a YouTuber who is devoting his energy to studying what makes them tick. The production quality of some of these is low, but if you’ve ever wanted to understand the way modern football is played – get on this…

A lot of what they do revolves around the brilliance of Lionel Messi.

How to make a viral music clip with 288,000 Jelly Beans

Here’s an equation for viral music video success.

288,000 Jelly beans + 22 months of Stop motion photography = everybody sharing your video. It helps that the song isn’t awful.

Minute Physics: Get in touch with your inner geek…

These are cool.

H/T to Kutz, who shared this pink light one a while ago.

Sword dancers channeling Napoleon Dynamite

The happy hands club should take this on… the guy who comes in about half way through has awesome butterfly knife skills. And I’m not sure why granny and the dog are hanging out in front of the stereo there… don’t they know knives and swords are dangerous.

The weight of the internet…

This video is doing the rounds – and I can see why. Because it is kind of interesting to know that all the 0s and 1s that make up the stuff we read on our screens actually weigh something. 50 grams, as a matter of fact.

My wife is a Babe…

My dear wife just finished writing an assignment. To celebrate she played this clip over and over again. Singing along.

I am still working on said assignment.

Why you shouldn’t have the “objections” question at your wedding

A pro-wrestler might turn up.

Another Improv Everywhere special – this time it’s a real wedding, and the bride and groom are part of the Improv Everywhere crew.

A love song to Siri…

This is pretty cool.

I’m glad my 4S is in the mail.
