Merry (belated) Christmas

The title speaks for itself really.

My question from this Christmas is: Why don’t we sing carols all year round? Especially “O Holy Night”… although I can take or leave my little sister’s interpretive dance on that number.

I paid attention to the lyrics of ‘O Holy Night’ for the first time this year. Beautiful song (though the version we sang had a pretty tough arrangement).

Sadly, the lyricist seemed to think that Jesus was a ‘liberation theologian’/marxist and summarised Jesus message as ‘the slave is our brother’ rather than ‘the Kingdom of God is near, repent and believe the good news’ as the gospel writers did.
